Welcome. For the first time I am sharing exercises for Intermediate High/Advanced Low students of Russian newly created for Summer 2021. The lessons follow a structure that I have used for many years training graduate students at Johns Hopkins SAIS in political and military Russian.
The exercises feature audio from Echo of Moscow radio, used with permission by A. Venediktov.
This is a listening exercise for people who want keep their language alive or maybe even advance it. Each lesson consists of introduction, vocabulary list in English and Russian as well as specific questions. Each Echo of Moscow program lasts about five minutes.
During class when I used this exercise, after listening and answering the questions, we discussed the theme of the program. Although this interactivity is not available here, you can test your comprehension by answering the questions and reviewing the provided vocabulary list.
I will be adding lessons approximately every two weeks in Summer 2021. The themes will cover Russian politics, international relations, economics and security. Please enjoy and I hope the lessons stimulate your interest in Russian language studies.
I'd like to acknowledge and express my thanks to two people whose generous assistance help make these postings possible. Natalia Penkina helps me with sound editing issues and Alexei Pechnikov assists with my website technical issues. Thanks again to both.
